    Jailed MPs Amritpal Singh and Sheikh Abdul Rashid took oath amid security. Singh, Waris Punjab De, on four-day parole; Rashid, Baramulla, on two-hour parole. Singh in Assam, National Security Act; Rashid in Tihar, linked to Zahoor Watali. Police coordinated their oath taking, granted by court and district magistrate. They won Lok Sabha seats as Independents.

    Court allows two-hour custody parole to Engineer Rashid to take oath as MP

    Kashmiri leader Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, was granted custody parole to take his oath as a Lok Sabha MP. He had sought interim bail for the oath-taking and parliamentary functions. Rashid has been in Tihar jail since 2019 under the UAPA for alleged involvement in a terror funding case.

    The NIA had filed a chargesheet against several individuals, including Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik, Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin in the case. Malik was awarded life imprisonment by a trial court in 2022 after he pleaded guilty to the charges.

    Delhi court fixes June 18 for Engineer Rashid's interim bail plea to take oath as MP

    A Delhi court has scheduled June 18 to hear arguments on an interim bail application by Engineer Rashid, who was arrested in a 2016 Jammu and Kashmir terror funding case, and seeks to take his oath as an MP after winning the Baramulla constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Rashid, a former MLA, defeated ex-J-K chief minister Omar Abdullah.

    NIA attaches properties of Hizb chief Salahuddin's sons in Kashmir

    The immovable properties of Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel were attached in heir native village of Soibugh of Budgam and Nursing Garh area of Ram Bagh in Srinagar have been attached under section 33(1) of UA( P) Act. Both of them are in Tihar jail since their arrest in October 2017 and August 2018 and were chargesheeted as well. The duo had been allegedly receiving funds from abroad from the associates of their father and overground workers of HM.
