Armita Geravand's death occurred after she remained in a coma for several weeks in Tehran, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. Amini's death had previously led to nationwide protests.

    According to the notification, it will be mandatory for female students and teachers to wear Hijab in co-educational institutions. Action will be taken against the head of the institution over the violation of the orders, as per the Samaa news report.

    The directive was issued by the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, Khaama Press reported. According to a UNAMA statement, a delegation of Taliban officials from the Ministry said that female employees should consider wearing the hijab, while reporting to duties.
