    Telangana polls: Congress prez Revanth Reddy's brother Kondal Reddy stopped from visiting polling booth

    Bharat Rashtra Samithi workers stopped Kondal Reddy, brother of Congress president-party candidate Revanth Reddy, from visiting the polling booth in Kamareddy, citing his inability to vote. A worker accused Reddy and his supporters of hooliganism and claimed that police arrested some of Reddy's supporters but released them in 10 minutes.

    Governor in Punjab threatening to impose Prez rule, while his counterparts in BJP-ruled states stay mute: Bhagwant Mann

    Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday alleged that Governor Banwarilal Purohit was threatening to impose President's rule in the state, while his counterparts in Manipur and Haryana are observing silence on the law and order situation there. Purohit had on Friday warned the Mann government that he could recommend President's rule in the state and also launch criminal proceedings if his letters are not answered.

    Prez Poll: Sharad Pawar takes control of oppn campaign, Yashwant Sinha to travel to J&K having no assembly

    Meanwhile, senior leaders of opposition parties on Wednesday met at the residence of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and took stock of Sinha's campaign. Sources close to them said Pawar has assumed charge of the campaign strategy. The leaders who attended the meeting included Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge of the Congress, CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI's Bhalchandra Kango and A D Singh of the RJD. Kulkarni was also present.
