Landowners will get compensated for the tower base area at 200% of the land value, against 80% now, as per the new norms, while compensation for RoW for the transmission corridor has been doubled to 30% of the land value. The move is aimed at reducing project delays because of compensation issues.

Sterlite Power announced the successful funding of Rs 1,373 crore for its Neemrana II Kotputli Transmission Limited project from Power Finance Corporation. Sterlite Power aims to build a green energy corridor. Acquired in November 2023, the project will operate on a BOOT basis for 35 years. This initiative will interconnect the Neemrana and Kotputli substations and facilitate a LILO to integrate the Neemrana II substation with Gurugram and Sohna substations.

Sterlite Power gets Rs 2,400 cr funding from REC arm for Beawar project
Sterlite Power has secured Rs 2,400 crore funding from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) for its Beawar transmission project in Rajasthan. The project, which aims to evacuate around 20 GW of renewable energy, will involve the construction of a 350 km, 765kV transmission corridor and a 3000 MVA 765/400kV substation.
Govt amends rules, exempts captive projects from transmission licence
The exemption from licence for transmission lines is already available to generating companies and captive generating stations. The move will encourage a new category of bulk consumers to emerge, benefiting from more affordable electricity and grid reliability, the power ministry said in a statement.

The project was awarded to Sterlite Power through the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process in November 2023. Through the Neemrana II Kotputli Transmission Limited SPV, the company will build this Green Energy - project on a BOOT (build, own, operate, transfer) basis, for 35 years. This is Sterlite Power’s twentieth power transmission project in India under the TBCB process.
Sterlite Power Transmission to demerge its transmission infra business
