    Tata Motors signs MoU with Tamil Nadu govt for manufacturing plant; to invest Rs 9,000 crore over 5 years

    Tata Motors and the Tamil Nadu Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build a vehicle manufacturing facility in the state, with an investment of Rs 9,000 crore over five years. The agreement will create 5,000 jobs and further bolster employment generation in the state. The move follows Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast's automobile manufacturing investment in the southern state.

    Ground breaking ceremony of VinFast takes place at Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi facility

    The ground breaking ceremony took place in the presence of Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin along with the senior representatives of the Vin group. ET had reported on February 10 that the Vietnamese company that is looking to compete with the likes of Tesla was going to have its ground-breaking ceremony on February 25.
