    Plan to set up coop bank, milk producers' union in every district of country: Amit Shah

He announced targets to establish cooperative banks and milk producers' unions in every district, and to set up multipurpose agriculture credit societies in two lakh panchayats lacking cooperative institutions within five years.

    Haj Committee now under Minority Affairs Ministry

    The government has designated the Ministry of Minority Affairs as the nodal ministry for the Haj Committee, taking over from the Ministry of External Affairs. Changes include new rules and the nomination of officers from various ministries to the committee.

    HUA ministry extends deadline for Smart Cities Mission till March 2025

    The Union housing and urban affairs ministry has announced an extension of the Smart Cities Mission deadline until March 2025, allowing completion of ongoing projects. This comes after requests from states facing delays. As of July 3, 2024, 100 cities have completed 90% of projects worth Rs 1,44,237 crore, with remaining projects in advanced stages. The allocated budget of Rs 48,000 crore has seen 97 per cent released by the Union government, with 93 per cent funds utilised.
