    Singh said the attempts to revive militancy in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch and adjoining Reasi was scuttled to a large extent by the security forces through various successful operations, while attempts are on to neutralize those who have managed to infiltrate into this side. "We have had back to back successful operations in Reasi and Rajouri in the recent past, resulting in the killing of (several) terrorists," he said.

    Additional Director General of Police of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, reached the encounter spot along with GoC Chinar Corps, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, to review the situation on the ground. Kumar briefly interacted with reporters to inform them about the conclusion of one of the longest and high-casualty operations in recent years.

    "Till now, LeT commander Uzair Khan's body has been recovered. The dead body of another terrorist is visible, but it has not been possible to retrieve it yet," the ADGP told reporters in Anantnag.     • Anantnag encounter day 6: Operation Kokernag continues; forces recover charred body from hideout

      The forces claim this is the most technologically advanced operation, in which heron drones and AI-based robots are being used. Last Wednesday, two senior army officials and a J&K police officer were killed in the initial hours of the gunfight. They were identified as Colonel Manpreeet Singh, Commanding Officer of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles, Major Aashish Dhonchak from the same unit and DySP of J&K police Humayun Muzammil Bhat.
