    Landslides snap surface communication in 7 Arunachal districts

    A portion of the NH-13 along the Pasighat-Pangin-Aalo road has blocked following a landslide on Thursday morning. A huge boulder has completely blocked the road in between Lokpeng and Pangin tri-junction in Siang district, PWD Highways assistant engineer Gemar Padu said.

    Arunachal Pradesh Elections 2024 Results: The BJP secured its third consecutive victory in Arunachal Pradesh, winning 33 out of 60 assembly seats.     Rain, hailstorm causes extensive damage in Arunachal district

    Heavy rain accompanied by hailstorm caused significant damage in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday evening. The storm disrupted power supply and surface communication to several villages under Tuting sub-division, damaging three-foot suspension bridges over the Siang river in Mayum, Zido, and Singging villages. Ration supply for army personnel stationed at Mayum top was also affected. Authorities have cautioned against using the damaged bridges until they are fully restored.

    MHA sanctions nearly 1022 kms of roads under village programme for Arunachal Pradesh: CM Pema Khandu

    Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced that the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sanctioned 1022 kms of roads under the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) for the state. The VVP aims to develop select villages in 46 blocks across 5 states, including Arunachal Pradesh, through various interventions such as livelihood generation, road connectivity, and village infrastructure.

    The defence minister unveiled the projects, built at a cost of Rs 724 crore, at a function held at the Siyom bridge on the Along-Yinkiong road in Arunachal Pradesh, in his first visit to the border state that came three-and-a-half weeks after an attempt of transgression by the Chinese troops in the Tawang sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

    "The Indian Army has the capability to face any challenge along the border", and is ready to deal with any situation, he said during the inauguration of a Border Roads Organisation (BRO) bridge here.
