Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identity number issued to Indian people based on biometric and demographic information. Aadhaar prevents duplicate numbers among residents by being unique and linked to a person's biometrics, as well as detecting fake and ghost identities that cause leaks. No resident may have a duplicate number since it is linked to their individual biometrics, identifying fraudulent and ghost identities.

    Aadhaar issued 10 years ago

If your Aadhaar was issued more than 10 years ago and was never updated, the UIDAI has been advising citizens to submit Proof of Identity and Proof of Address (PoI/PoA) documents to revalidate their demographic information. As a result, services will be provided better and authentication will be more successful.
