Ishaan Arya, co-founder, The Esports Club, shares how he uses his gadgets for work and entertainment.
Screen time“Working from home, I’m spending more time with my PC in web calls or on Discord, where we have our team meetings and work updates. Given that there is less ‘office time’ and it’s all a bit fluid, I find myself spending more time on mobile devices, catching up on emails, speaking with clients, partners and vendors throughout the day.”
Gadgets of choice
“The two gadgets that I can’t live without are my computer and the phone. All the work I do on my office laptop is synced with my work/battle station at home, so I can pick up exactly where I left off.”
“Currently, I am using an Iqoo 3 handset. I am interested in the device because of its impressive processor, battery life and gaming trigger on the side. It’s a solid performer despite shortcomings in the OS and UI departments. My most used gadget is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ which makes working around the house a little easier.”
Matchday calendar
“For work, I use Outlook, Microsoft Teams and other MS Office apps to get all my documents, trackers, presentations ready for work. I don’t use any app to organise my day, just the Outlook calendar widget for meeting timings. It also reminds me when the Premier League football matches are on.”
“I’ve tried Fitbit and a few smartwatches. While they’re exciting at first with notifications, fitness tracking and messages on your wrist, keeping a track of them and remembering to charge them is a nightmare. I think new gadgets need to become a bit more functional and easier to manage before making life easier.”

“Having been a broadcaster in my early days, I’ve always had a powerful workstation at home. It has definitely made the work from home transition easier. A good tablet or laptop is extremely useful to be able to work around the house. I recommend that one should also get a Prime Music or Spotify subscription. Otherwise working from home can get monotonous.”
