Nifty ended Thursday’s session 16 points higher above the 24,300-level to form a red candle with a minor upper shadow.
The overall trend of Nifty remains positive as per smaller to larger time frame chart. Having placed at the hurdle of around 24400 levels (1.618% Fibonacci Extension), there is a possibility of this consolidation/minor dip extending for the coming sessions. Immediate support is at 10 day-EMA at 23,990, said Nagaraj Shetti of HDFC Securities.
Strong call writing was observed at 24,400 strike while strong put writing was observed at 24,300 strike in Nifty, which kept the index in a range throughout the day. The put writers have strengthened their position at 24,000 & 24,200 strike in Nifty.

Mcap of BSE-listed firms hit all-time high of Rs 447.40 lakh cr
The market capitalization of BSE-listed firms reached a record high of Rs 447.30 lakh crore on Thursday, as the benchmark Sensex closed at a new all-time high. The 30-share BSE Sensex hit an intraday record high of 80,392.64 in early trading. However, due to volatility and profit-taking by investors, the index pared most of its gains and ended the session 62.87 points, or 0.08%, higher at 80,049.67.
Bandhan Bank shows strong growth in deposits and advances for June
The leading private lender has reported significant year-on-year growth in its loans and advances, which reached Rs 1,25,619 crore in June 2024, marking a 21.8% increase from Rs 1,03,169 crore in the previous year. The bank also saw a notable rise in total deposits, which stood at Rs 1,33,203 crore in June, reflecting a substantial 22.8% increase compared to Rs 1,08,480 crore in June 2023, according to a statement to the bourses.

Nifty Bank hits record highs but pare gains to close above 53,000
The Nifty Bank achieved new record highs on Thursday but struggled to maintain the momentum and ultimately pared most of its gains, closing nearly flat. The index rose by 14 points to settle at 53,103, after reaching an intraday record high of 53,357. Meanwhile, the Nifty50 also saw a slight increase, rising by 15 points to close at 24,302.

Gold pushes to 2-week high as weak data fuels US rate cut bets
Gold prices retreated slightly on Thursday, remaining close to a two-week peak achieved in the previous session.
