Scooter more expensive than Mahindra Scorpio! Vespa 946 Dragon Edition launched in India

Vespa has launched its most exclusive and expensive scooter in India yet, the Vespa 946 Dragon Edition. Priced at Rs 14.28 lakh, ex-showroom, this collector’s edition scooter is even more expensive than the base-spec Mahindra Scorpio SUV, which comes at a starting price of Rs 13.61 lakh, ex-showroom. The model is now available for bookings at Motoplex showrooms across the country.
The Vespa 946 Dragon Edition arrives as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) from Italy, where it is hand-crafted. This limited-edition scooter was launched globally to celebrate the Lunar New Year of Hong Kong. It features a striking dragon motif, symbolizing prosperity, in an emerald green shade along its profile and beneath the headlamp.

The Vespa 946 Dragon boasts a metal-monocoque body, single leading-link shock, 12-inch wheels, and 220 mm disc brakes on both ends. It is powered by the familiar 150cc, air-cooled engine that makes 12.7 hp and 12.8 Nm of peak torque.
Besides this, buyers of the Vespa 946 Dragon will also receive a limited-edition Vespa Dragon Varsity Jacket. This fashion item, a first for Vespa in India, features ribbed wool and Nappa leather sleeves with emerald green dragon motifs and intricate embroidery, echoing the scooter's design.

The company will sell only 1,888 units of this edition globally, though the number allocated to India is not yet known.
