Top court to hear 34 cases of Tripura in special Lok Adalat
Agartala: Supreme Court is set to hear 34 cases from Tripura during the special Lok Adalat week, which will take place from July 29 to August 3. Among these cases is a recent one pending in the apex court concerning the termination of 10,323 govt school teachers following a judgment by the Tripura high court in 2014.
Notices have been issued by the Tripura State Legal Services Authority to parties involved in the cases, requiring them to appear before the respective district Legal Services Authority of West Tripura and South Tripura, as well as the High Court Legal Service Authority, for the pre-Lok Adalat conciliation process.

The deadline for this process is July 10. To facilitate the parties’ participation in the conciliation process, arrangements for distant participation through video-conference have been made available for pre-Lok Adalat conciliation hearings.
The scheduling of the highly sensitive case involving the removal of 10,323 school teachers from service a decade ago in Lok Adalat has caused confusion among the affected parties.
