Gandhinagar: Gujarat govt on Monday announced the launch of a new scheme to promote natural farming of vegetables. State agriculture minister Raghavji Patel on Monday said that under the scheme, farmers will get assistance of Rs 20,000 per hectare for seeds, natural farming techniques and the like for growing vegetables using natural farming techniques without using chemical fertilizers.
In his budget speech for 2024-25, state finance minister Kanu Desai had allocated Rs 10 crore for promoting natural farming of vegetables. Through the scheme, vegetables will be grown over 5,000 hectares only using natural farming methods and farmers will get funds through direct bank transfer.
