GRP detains man from Jaipur for raping minor at Ajmer stn

Ajmer: Government Railway Police (GRP) on Wednesday detained a man from Jaipur’s Kanakpura area in connection with the rape of a minor girl at Ajmer railway station on Tuesday.
An 11-year-old girl was discovered in a coach of a train in the yard of Ajmer railway station on Tuesday morning. GRP found her injured and traumatised at 4am. It was soon revealed that she had been sexually assaulted.The survivor was immediately taken to JLN Hospital for medical attention. The medical board confirmed that she had been raped and badly beaten by the accused.
The girl and her family had arrived in Ajmer from Madhya Pradesh and had fallen asleep on platform number 4 while waiting for their train. The accused allegedly kidnapped the girl, took her to the empty coach and raped her as her family was asleep.
GRP launched a search a search ater the survivor’s parents lodged a complaint. GRP sources said the suspect has been detained and that certain details are being verified. The suspect was tracked down with his phone’s location data.
On Wednesday, Congress’ women’s wing submitted a memorandum to the Governor, demanding improved security for women and girls in the state.
