Surat family’s kid falls from Ajmer hotel window, dies
Ajmer: A one-and-a-half-year-old boy, whose family had come from Surat to offer prayers at the Ajmer dargah, died after falling from the window of a hotel’s second floor in Diggi Bazaar Sunday night. He was taken for treatment to JLN Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries Monday morning.
According to police, Hasmukh Khan of Surat arrived in Ajmer with his wife, Afreen, and their four sons, and stayed at a hotel in Diggi Bazaar.
Afreen, the mother, recounted that after returning to the hotel late Sunday evening from the dargah, her husband went to the washroom, and she went to fetch water. Her three elder sons were playing on a mobile phone. During this time, the youngest child, Kanti, moved towards the window and fell through it. He sustained a head injury.
Police mentioned that the parents filed no complaint against the hotel owner and expressed the wish to take away the body without a postmortem.
