GM CORE takes charge as officiating GM of NCR
Prayagraj: Officer of Indian Railway (stores service), Ashok Kumar Verma took over the additional charge as the General Manager of North Central Railway on Saturday. He is appointed as General Manager Central Organization for Railway Electrification, (CORE) Prayagraj from January 2024. The new general manager is a 1987 batch officer and has served Indian Railways in various capacities.
After formally taking the charge Verma held a meeting with all the principal heads of departments on Saturday. While addressing the meeting he said punctuality and safety are the most important parameters in railway functioning. Verma further added that safety of staff is of paramount importance. He also emphasized the need to check the preparations for ensuing monsoon. He instructed that officers and supervisors should remain accessible to staff for resolving their concerns and all the issues be dealt with in due time frame. He also said that the ‘rail madad’ is an effective tool to resolve passenger grievances and it should be utilized properly.
