Burglar gang busted, 6 arrested

Prayagraj: Baharia police on Friday claimed to have busted an inter-district gang of burglars and arrested four of its members near Gopalapur while plotting to dispose of stolen articles. Police have recovered stolen materials including three solar panels, two submersible pumps, cables, one pick up van etc worth lakhs of rupees from their possession.The arrested persons were identified as Virendra Kumar (22), Sanjay Maurya (33), Rajendra Kumar (22) and Rahul Kumar (27) residents of Karnaipur. Police said that these burglars had executed theft in Baharia and Phulpur blocks and were operating their activities for past one year.
Meanwhile, a joint team of Phulpur and special operation group (SOG) have also arrested three burglars including Mohd Shamshad (30) of Soraon, Ejaj Pathan alias Taj Mohammad alias Taju alias Rizwan (33) of Jaunpur and Ashraf Ali (38) of Bihar and seized one SUV, one car, one bike, Rs 3 lakh cash and one country made pistol of 0.315 bore along with two live cartridges from their possession. The burglars had stolen these vehicle from different parts of the city. tnn
