Couple injured in Pratapgarh after goons open fire
Prayagraj: A couple was injured after sustaining bullet injury at a village located under Mandhata police station area of neighbouring district of Pratapgarh, on Saturday. According to additional SP, Durgesh Kumar Singh, as per the nephew of the injured couple, around ten individuals fired several rounds of bullet in broad daylight at the house of the injured on Saturday noon.
While the husband, Rajesh Kumar Singh (aged 45) and his wife Geeta Singh (aged 43), sustained bullet injury on their leg.
Following the incident, local police rushed to the spot and took the injured to community health centre (CHC), Mandhata. They were later referred to SRN hospital at Prayagraj. The injured have been admitted at SRN and their condition is stated to be out of danger. “We will file a case after getting the complaint but the accused, whose name has been told by Rajesh’s relative, are on a run and will soon be arrested for which police teams have been constituted”, said Singh.
