SRN hospital to get modern kitchen, to provide free meals to patients, attendants
Prayagraj: Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) hospital will soon get a modern kitchen having state-of-the-art machines through which it would provide high-quality free meals to the patients and one of their attendants.
Deputy medical superintendent of the hospital Gautam Tripathi said a budget of Rs 59 lakh has been approved by the govt for the modular kitchen and the work is going on at a fast pace.
He said there is a provision to provide free food to the patients admitted in the 1400-bed hospital and one of their attendants. The current kitchen prepares meals every morning and evening for about 700 individuals.
“Construction of the new kitchen would make it easier to provide quality food for the patients and their attendants on time and in a systematic manner,” he said.
Tripathi added that the hospital administration is purchasing 10 new trolleys which would be used to carry food in the wards. The current kitchen has a machine to knead 5kg of dough at a time, but for the new kitchen, a machine to knead 50 kg of dough at a time would be installed. An automatic roti making machine that would make about 1000 rotis in an hour would be used. Currently, there are 31 employees working in the hospital kitchen.
