Indian origin Parmod Kumar is committed to community, progress, and better Indo German ties

AMRITSAR: Parmod Kumar, of Punjabi origin, is running for the Bezirk parliament elections in Germany while focusing on improving Indo-German relations, strengthening business ties, and supporting the local community, including Indian students pursuing their education in Germany.
While closely monitoring the recently concluded Indian parliamentary elections, Parmod,56, representing the Germany’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) political party is dedicating ten to twelve hours daily to his campaign in the Bergedorf district, which has a population of approximately 1.7 lakh including around 5,000 persons of Indian, Afghan, Pakistani, and other origins.
The elections are slated for June 9.
“Once elected as Abgerodnete (equivalent to Member of Legislative Assembly. (MLA) in India), I aim to pursue with the newly formed Indian government for better relations between two countries and specifically raising the issues of business ties, cultural exchange, supporting Indian students in Germany, etc.” said Parmod. For the locals I am raising the issues of better transport facilities, uplifting economy , job creation , providing cheap residential units etc. said he.
Amritsar-born Parmod's family, who run a ball-bearing factory, settled in Goraya when he was young. In 1991, Parmod moved to Germany, where he began his career as a dishwasher. Over the years, he has risen to become a successful entrepreneur, currently employing over 120 people.
“There is significant potential for business between the two countries, especially in unexplored sectors that I aim to develop and advance,” said Parmod .
He said that he see many students arriving in Bergedorf to study, and they face numerous challenges, including accommodation, jobs, and language barriers. As a government representative, I intend to address these issues to make their transition smoother and more successful, added he.

Parmod emphasized that there are many sectors in Germany where one can manage with a basic knowledge of the German language. While working and earning, Indian students can simultaneously improve their German language skills.
He said "As a government representative, I will address the issue of accommodation, striving to secure affordable housing for students. I will support Indians in starting their own businesses, providing them with the necessary resources and guidance to succeed” said he.
Not forgetting his ingrained habit of ‘Sewa’ (voluntary service), Parmod informed that he currently provides free ration to 200 Germans every week. He said, “If elected, I will be instrumental in arranging affordable accommodation, ration, and jobs for the people who are an important part of my constituency”.
