Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marthwada University (Bamu) has finally declared the schedule of PhD admissions with registration for the entrance test set to begin from Monday.
As per official schedule, the PhD Entrance Test (PET) is scheduled for Sept 1, and it will be conducted in 33 different subjects. Controller of examinations of Bamu Bharati Gawali said the admission process would be completed in an online manner.
“The candidate must have at least a B+ grade at the postgraduate level to register for the PET. The entire process will be completed in a time-bound and transparent manner,” she said.
Deputy registrar of the university Vijay More said availability of research guides for PhD candidates would be declared soon. “A stream-wise list of research guides will be made available by the university. The candidates will be admitted in proportion with the availability of guides,” he said.
Citing the inordinate delay, several student unions were demanding the release of date so that candidates can effectively prepare for the entrance. The last PET was held on December 30, 2020.
Considerable number of candidates appear for Bamu’s PET for admission to PhD with junior research fellowship (JRF) and appointment as assistant professor or for admission to PhD without JRF and appointment as assistant professor or for admission to PhD programme only and not for the award of JRF or appointment as assistant professor.
