Boy, 13, detained for raping 5-year-old girl in Kheri district

Bareilly: A 13-year-old boy was detained for allegedly raping his five-year-old neighbour girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Kheri district on Friday evening, said police. The boy was detained and produced before a juvenile court, which sent him to a children’s home.
According to police, the girl had gone to play in the neighbourhood, and when she returned, her clothes were stained with blood.Her mother found she was violated upon inspectingher and immediately informed her husband and called the police.
“The girl was taken to a secluded place where she was sexually assaulted by the accused minor boy. He was detained and handed over to the Juvenile Justice Board. An FIR has been registered under section 376ab (rape of a woman less than 12 years of age) of IPC and the Pocso Act,” said SHO Pasgawa police station Arun Kumar Singh.
He added, “We have sent the girl to district hospital for treatment and medico-legal examination.” A police officer, privy to the case, requesting anonymity said the accused often watched obscene videos on his phone. Asif Ansari
