Bareilly division to launch three-point plantation program on July 1
PILIBHIT: The state and regional authorities of the Bareilly division have chalked out a three-point plantation program aimed at transforming it into a public initiative. This program is set to launch on July 1 in all four districts of the Bareilly division—Pilibhit, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, and Badaun—coinciding with the start of the week-long ‘Van Mahotsav’.

The chief conservator of Bareilly zone Vijay Singh said, “The program incorporates spiritualism to strengthen social bonds. Unlike previous years, this program includes ‘Ek Paudha Ma Ke Naam’ (one plant in the name of mother), ‘Har Har Tulsi, Ghar Ghar Tulsi’ (Ocimum sanctum at each household), and ‘Mission Chhaya’ (mission shade).”
Singh said, “the department aims to plant 1.83 crore saplings in the Bareilly division this year, supported by nurseries producing 2.70 crore saplings. The drive will be a public campaign to involve the community in expanding plantation efforts and ensuring the care and protection of the saplings.”
“Plants for ‘Ma Ke Naam’ and Tulsi saplings will be provided free of cost. Tulsi plants offer immense medicinal benefits and promote spiritualism, reducing stress levels. The ‘Ma Ke Naam’ plants will promote respect for mothers and inspire people to take good care of the plants,” he added.
The chief conservator said,“Priority for planting shade-giving trees such as Siris (Albizia lebbeck), Pakad (Ficus virens), Neem (Azadirachta indica), Kadamb (Anthocephalus cadamba), and Arjun (Terminalia arjuna) will be given in public spaces like railway stations, bus stands, and hospitals.”
