Sisters’ kidnapping case: 2 held after encounter
Bareilly: Two men were arrested Sunday morning following a police encounter for allegedly kidnapping a married woman and her sister and firing on their family members in Mundhapande area of Moradabad.
During the gunfight, one of the accused was shot in the leg and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
On Friday, police along with the Moradabad development authority bulldozed houses of the main accused Muslim Hussain and his uncle in Samdhi Shivpuri village.
Hussain and five members of his family were named in the kidnapping and firing case. Hussain is still on the run and the police have announced a bounty of Rs 25,000 for his capture.
According to police, on June 26, the accused tried to kidnap the married woman but the family woke up after one of the sisters shouted for help. The accused then opened fire at the parents and the brother who sustained injuries. An FIR was filed against Hussain, his father Nanhe, uncle Suleman and Ale Hasa among others for kidnapping and attempted murder. SSP Satpal Singh said, “We arrested accused Mahfoz and Bhura after a brief encounter..”
