BENGALURU: A Bengaluru-based man allegedly shot dead his friend and business partner before ending his life using the same firearm, in Hassan on Thursday.
Asif, 47, and Sharafat Ali, 54, who had migrated from
Uttar Pradesh decades ago and resided at Aduvalli were business partners dealing in
real estate.
They parted ways a few years ago after their relationship soured over sharing profits, a police officer said.
But they patched up to sell a few properties belonging to Asif.
Sources said Asif had breakfast at Ali's home Thursday morning and the duo left the place telling family members they had some work in the revenue department. Instead, they drove to Hoysala Nagar where they had a property.
Locals told police that they heard a heated argument between the two. According to initial findings, Asif murdered Ali by firing at him, and shot himself dead sitting in an SUV. Both died on the spot, police said.
Fingerprint and forensic experts visited the spot to gather evidence, Hassan SP Mohammed Sujeetha MS said. The bodies were handed over to their families after postmortem at Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences.
