Several factors contribute to the growth trajectory. “The rebound in international travel post pandemic has played a significant role, with the easing of travel restrictions and passengers regaining confidence. This has resulted in more travellers opting for international trips, driving up passenger numbers,” said a spokesperson of Bangalore International Airport Limited, which operates KIA.
“Our strategic initiatives to enhance connectivity have also yielded positive outcomes. The introduction of new routes and increased frequency of existing ones has made the airport a preferred hub for international travellers, further boosting passenger traffic,” the BIAL spokesperson added.
