BENGALURU: A woman police sub-inspector was issued a notice seeking explanation on how actor
Darshan’s girlfriend and murder accused Pavithra Gowda was allowed to put on makeup when she was taken for a spot mahazar to her house in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on June 16.
According to police sources, while coming out of her house after the mahazar, Pavithra was spotted smiling.
Senior police officials noticed in the footage on TV channels that she had put on makeup during the visit.
S Girish, deputy commissioner of police (south), issued the notice to Vijayanakar, the sub-inspector who had taken Pavithra for the mahazar.
The police official is said to have told her seniors that Pavithra took permission from her to use the washroom, and she may have put on makeup there.
She also told seniors that Pavithra would have put on makeup whenever she came from the state women’s home where she was lodged at night during police custody. She had a makeup kit with her at the women’s home, the sub-inspector told officers. Further inquiry into the issue is under way.
Pistols to be seizedDarshan, accused in S Renukaswamy’s murder, and Pradosh, a software engineer, have licensed pistols. It is learnt that the duo had got exemption over depositing their weapons during the recent Lok Sabha elections.
A senior police officer confirmed that Pradosh was given exemption. “We are verifying if Darshan was also exempted. We will seize the pistols from their houses in due course after obtained a search warrant,” he said.
