BHOPAL: BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayavargiya, who recently dared Modi critics for their 56-inch remarks after surgical strikes in PoK (Pak occupied Kashmir), called for boycotting Chinese products against his favouring Pak based terrorists in the United Nations. Vijayavargiya's remarks have upset the ruling party leaders in Madhya Pradesh who are making heart and soul to bring Chinese investors in the state during the ensuing Global Investor Summit (GIS), slated for October 23 and 24.

Major concern for the BJP government is Vijayavargiya was also joined by Vishwas Sarang, minister of state (Mos) for Cooperatives and Alok Sanjar, Lok Sabha member from Bhopal, who also supported him in the cause. Vijayavargiya's call for boycotting Chinese goods came as a mark of protest after China blocked India's efforts to get Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar, designated as a terrorist by the UN. He wrote on the Twitter amid the growing tension between India and Pakistan following the terror attack at an Indian Army base in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri.
''I am in Kolkata today, markets are decorated with Durga Pooja celebrations but I am saddened to see Chinese goods flooded in the market'', tweeted Vijayavargiya during wee hours of Monday. In a series of tweets using a hashtag ''BoycottChina'', the BJP functionary said, ''Pakistan has China’s support and extending any economic support to the eastern neighbour was akin to weakening the country’s internal security''.
He said, China Vetoed in United Nations against declaring a Pak-based terrorist a ``terrorist'' against India. ``Buying Chinese product is an indirect support to a terrorist country. I appeal to the traders that no matter how cheap Chinese goods are, country’s security and prestige are more important than the profit,” Vijayavargiya said in another tweet. Vijayavargiya is known for courting controversy through his tweets and public statements, as he said ``India comes first''. His recent remarks would put the ruling BJP government in a dilemma over investments by Chinese companies.
More surprising came from minister of state for Cooperatives, Vishwas Sarang, who also called upon to boycott Chinese products in view of latter's support to Pakistan. ``I personally support the demand to boycott Chinese goods as the country is helping Pakistan. This would be the best option to give a blow to Chinese economy as India is the biggest consumer market for it'', Sarang told TOI. However, the minister clarified that it was the BJP and the state government to decide officially on the issue. What he said were his personal feelings which he had shared with the public.
BJP’s Lok Sabha member from Bhopal Alok Sanjar also supported boycott of Chinese goods saying people should take firm decision in favour of the country.
