Bhopal: A miscreant allegedly attempted to commit theft at an ATM of a private bank located in Berasia past midnight on Tuesday.
However, he could not reach the cash box and ran away after hearing police sirens. His act was captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the ATM. Berasia police registered a case of attempted theft against an unidentified person on the complaint filed by the bank manager.
Police were searching for the accused on the basis of the footage recovered from the CCTV.
Berasia police said that the ATM of a private bank is located on Bhopal Road in Berasia, where no security guard is deployed.
Past midnight on Tuesday around 2am, a miscreant entered the ATM with a towel tied on his face and head, wearing hand gloves. He started attempting to steal money from the cash box. The miscreant had opened the plate in front of the ATM, but before he could reach the cash box, he ran away after hearing the siren of a police car patrolling in the area. When the bank manager Sumit Bhargava came to know about the incident in the morning on Tuesday, he complained about the matter to the police.
Police have registered a case of attempted theft against an unidentified accused. The manager has also given the CCTV footage to the police. Police were searching for the accused on the basis of his appearance.
