BHOPAL: A man axed his sister-in-law to death and walked into the police station in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh. A case was filed at the Ajaygarh police station area.
Kalhi Kewat (45) of Bara Kagre village was accustomed to going to the forest to graze goats with a neighbouring woman, a practice her brother-in-law, Rajaram Kewat, disapproved of. On Friday afternoon, this disagreement turned into a heated argument between the two.
That evening, as Kalhi Kewat was returning home after grazing the goats, her enraged brother-in-law attacked her with an axe, resulting in her death.

Rajaram Kewat then went to Ajaygarh police station, carrying the blood-stained axe and surrendered.
The police informed the deceased's son about the incident. Upon reaching the scene, they recovered the body and, after conducting the necessary Panchnama proceedings, sent it for postmortem. On Saturday, the body was handed over to the family.
The deceased's son, Hariram Kewat, said that his uncle had attacked his mother with an axe, leaving her in the forest before fleeing to Ajaygarh.
