Schoolgirl stabbed to death in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur market

JABALPUR: A 17-year-old schoolgirl was stabbed to death in a busy marketplace in Jabalpur city on Monday evening. Police are looking for the suspect, 20-year-old Gufran.
It appears The victim and accused knew each other for some time, say police. The girl was visiting Badi Omti market, when Gufran accosted her and stabbed her multiple times in the busy street around 7.30 pm, say police.Passersby recoiled in horror and no one dared stop the killer from fleeing.
Some locals took the girl to hospital but she died on the way. Preliminary probe suggests that the girl and Gufran were friends but she recently stopped talking to him, said Omti circle SP Rajesh Rathore. “This angered him and he killed her.
