Stop making unverified claims on MSP: Shivraj
Bhopal: After the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi charged that the Narendra Modi govt was not giving MSP to farmers on their produce on Monday, Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the leader of the Opposition should desist from making unverified charges.
Chouhan said that MSP rates of 14 crops have been declared by the Union govt and procurement of these crops are being done on the MSP.

Chouhan said that Rahul Gandhi should tell the House how many crops were under the MSP regime during the Congress-led UPA govt. Besides, there was hardly any procurement of crops for which there was MSP at that time, he added.
Following this, Rahul Gandhi said that they want a legal guarantee of MSP and not only MSP cover for some crops.
