Man gets 20 years' RI for raping minor

KEONJHAR: A fast track court in Keonjhar convicted a 22-year-old youth for raping a 13-year-old girl in 2022. The court sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment under the Pocso Act and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. The incident occurred on February 25, 2022, when the girl was sleeping with other girls after having dinner. Late at night, the accused broke into the house and raped the minor.The other girls woke up upon hearing her screams and when they turned on the light, the accused fled.
