‘Work to fulfill new govt’s poll promises’
Bhubaneswar: Chief secretary Manoj Ahuja on Monday asked secretaries of various departments to work for the implementation of various manifesto promises of the Mohan Majhi-led govt on priority.
A day after he took over as the top bureaucrat of the state, Ahuja chaired a meeting of the secretaries and advised them on plans for the effective execution of numerous government initiatives, emphasizing the importance of achieving tangible results.

“Odisha’s administrative system has gained recognition for its effectiveness. The administration must consider the promises made in the election manifesto when implementing various schemes and programmes,” Ahuja told the officers.
Among other issues, preparations for President Droupadi Murmu’s upcoming Odisha visit later this week was discussed in the chief secretary-led meeting, a govt statement said. Murmu is likely to reach Bhubaneswar on July 6 on a four-day visit to the state.
Apart from her other engagements, the President is likely to witness Rath Yatra in Puri on July 7.
