MC chief dedicates devp works to residents of EWS Colony, Sec 32
Chandigarh: Keeping in view to provide world class services to its residents, the Chandigarh municipal corporation has completed various development works at EWS colony, Sector 32.
In the presence of area municipal councillor Anju Katyal and others, MC commissioner Anindita Mitra, on Monday dedicated the development works at EWS colony, including paver block pavement, re-construction of approach streets, re-carpeting of colony, stainless steel indicator boards, open air gym, construction of footpath and boundary wall and strengthening of storm water pipeline and sewerage system, to the residents.

While speaking on the occasion, the MC commissioner said these development works at EWS Colony, Sector 32, were completed at a cost of Rs 1crore and included 60mm thick paver blocks in the common area. She added that the approach street of blocks re-constructed with 80mm thick paver blocks as passage to these blocks was in poor condition because of laying of pipeline for strengthening of storm and sewerage pipeline.
Mitra said the internal streets in EWS colony had been re-carpeted with a 30mm thick bituminous concrete layer and stainless-steel indicator boards have been fixed in blocks in the colony. An open air gym has also been provided in the colony’s park. She said a footpath and toe wall had been constructed in the park, besides strengthening of the storm water pipeline and sewerage pipeline in the colony.
