CHANDIGARH: Police arrested three people and booked two others in three incidents of stabbing across the city.
In the first case, two miscreants allegedly assaulted a 25-year-old man with sharp-edge weapons at Hallomajra on Tuesday night.
The miscreants demanded money from Deepak Kumar, a resident of Hallomajra, and when he refused, they allegedly attacked him.

The injured person has been battling for his life at PGI.
On the statement of the father of the injured, the Sector 31 police registered a case against two persons and started a probe.
Victim’s father Rakesh Kumar said he runs an ice-cream agency in Hallomajra and his son also helps him in the business.
On Tuesday night, Deepak had dinner and was walking with his dog near his house at around 10.30 pm.
As he reached near his house, two accused — including one Rahul, a resident of Hallmajra — allegedly stopped him forcibly and demanded money.

After Deepak refused to part with money, the accused took out the weapons and attacked him on his head and other body parts. The victim raised the alarm for help.
As the passersby started gathering on the spot, both accused fled. Passersby informed the family members of Deepak about the incident.
Rakesh Kumar, along with Deepak’s brother, reached the spot and rushed him to GMCH-32. Later, doctors referred him to PGI.
Sector 31 police also reached the PGI and recorded the statement of the victim and registered a case against Rahul and another person.
In another stabbing case, Sector 31 police arrested two persons — Sumit Singh and Amit Singh — of Faidan village for allegedly stabbing a person in the same village in UT on Monday night. Vinod was allegedly assaulted with sharp-edge weapons by the group of seven-eight people.
