Punjabis stuck abroad: Seechewal
Jalandhar: Rajya Sabha member Balbir Singh Seechewal met external affairs minister S. Jaishankar on Monday, during the parliament session, to raise the issue of Punjabis stranded abroad and urged him to rescue them. He said letters he gave to the minister mentioned that there were 12 Indians stuck in a prison in Armenia, in which most were Punjabis.
He told Jaishankar about youths who were forcibly recruited into the Russian army. Parents of two of these youths approached him, he said. He also brought a few other cases to the minister’s notice. Later, he said the minister assured efforts were being made to evacuate Indians safely. tnn
