CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu govt will fill 75,000 vacancies by January 2026, chief minister M K Stalin announced in the assembly on Tuesday. He said the Dravidian model rule “thinks of not the next election but of the next generation.”
Making the announcement under the Rule 110 of the Tamil Nadu assembly, Stalin said quality education and skill development training were being provided to students to enhance their job opportunities.

“I would like to make a happy announcement for thousands of youths in Tamil Nadu, who are aspiring for govt jobs. 75,000 vacancies will be filled by January 2026,” he said.
As many as 17,595 vacancies will be filled by the TNPSC, 19,260 vacancies by the Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB), 3,041 vacancies by the Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB) and 6,688 vacancies by the TN Uniformed Service Recruitment Board.
Apart from this, 30,219 vacancies in different departments, including social welfare, municipal administration, urban and water supply, would be filled by Jan 2026, he added.
Schemes like Pudumai Pen, Tamil Puthalvan and Naan Mudalvan were implemented keeping in mind the move to create a knowledge-based economy.
He said that in the last three years, 65,483 youths had been appointed by various govt departments. They included 32,774 direct appointments that had been made in various departments through the TNPSC. As many as 32,709 youths had been appointed in local body institutes and government undertakings, he said.

The CM said lakhs of jobs had been created due to the largescale investments obtained through the Global Investors Meet (GIM).
Stalin said data obtained from the Union govt’s Employees Provident Fund (EPF) showed that 77,78,999 jobs had been generated in the last three years. EPF accounts had been opened for these 77,78,999 youths.
As many as 5,08,055 youths had got jobs through the efforts of the Tamil Nadu government in the last three years.
The Naan Mudhalvan scheme, which was his dream project, had helped 3,06,459 people secure jobs in the private sector. Special job fairs conducted by the Tamil Nadu labour welfare board had resulted in 2,01,596 people getting jobs in the last three years, he added.
