COIMBATORE: The 17th edition of Coimbatore Vizha would be held from November 23 to December 1 this year, said district collector Kranthi Kumar Pati on Tuesday.
Along with Coimbatore Corporation commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran and city police commissioner V Balakrishnan, the collector announced the launch date and released the logo.
Kranthi Kumar Pati mentioned that this year there would be new events to keep everyone engaged.

"If we organize the same events every year, people will not be excited," he said.
They are also planning an anti-drug campaign during the events to attract more youngsters.
"The Vizha is also going to promote local businesses. Together, we will all celebrate and look forward to a grand celebration of Coimbatore," he added.
More than 200 events have been planned, including a dozen new ones like Grassroot Motorsport, Polo Premier League, Wild Warriors - Obstacle Race, Vizha on Wheels, Unavu Thiruvizha, and Vizha's Own Parade.
The Vizha will feature its iconic double-decker bus rides, art street, exotic car rally, Isai Mazhai, Coimbatore Vizha Marathon, and other signature events.
As Coimbatore Vizha is a celebration of the spirit of Coimbatore, the organizers have changed the usual launch period to coincide with Coimbatore Day (November 24) this year, aiming at making the event a memorable one for every Coimbatorean.
