Man, 68, held for raping 6-yr-old relative in Himachal

Uttarkashi: A 68-year-old man was arrested for raping his six-year-old girl, a distant relative at a village in Mori region in Uttarkashi district on Friday, police said on Saturday.
Mori police station in-charge Ashok Kumar said, “On June 27, the accused raped the minor girl when her parents were not present at the house. They found their daughter in a terrible condition upon their return and immediately rushed her to a hospital in Rohudu, Himachal Pradesh.”
Officials said the doctors confirmed that she had been raped on June 27.A case was registered by Arakot police against the accused based on the complaint filed by the girl’s father.
“The accused was arrested on Friday, under relevant sections of the Pocso Act and section 376 of the IPC. He has been sent to jail, after being presented in court”, Kumar said.
