Man found hanging after ‘threat calls’

Bageshwar: A 33-year-old man’s body was found hanging from the carrier mounted atop a taxi on Saturday night in Bhairu Chaubatta village. Before his death, Manoj Kumar posted a video on social media alleging that Navin Nath and Niraj Kumar had threatened him with physical harm and struck him with a bottle.
Kumar’s family filed a complaint with the revenue police, accusing Navin and Niraj of “orchestrating his death” due to a long-standing feud.

After Kumar’s body was found, villagers gathered at the district hospital, demanding the immediate arrest of the two men named in the video. Sub-district magistrate Monica Arya, accompanied by police, visited the hospital and informed the villagers that the district magistrate has ordered the case to be transferred to the police for a probe.
