PRD jawan, 34, dies after shooting himself
Roorkee: A 34-year-old Prantiya Rakshak Dal jawan who allegedly shot himself under the influence of alcohol, died on Saturday while receiving treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh. Police said prima facie, the case appears to be a suicide as Aditya Panwar had been suffering from depression.
Panwar was a resident of Aamkheri village and was posted at a checkpost in Narsan.
Jasvir Singh, ex village-head, told TOI, “Panwar came home drunk on Friday and had an argument with his wife during which he took out an illegal country-made pistol and fired at his stomach.”
Amar Chand Sharma, SHO, Manglaur police station, said, “The victim told his family that he shot himself, so we are treating the case as a suicide.” Tapan Susheel
