NEW DELHI: The heavy downpour on Friday led to widespread waterlogging across Delhi, including the residence of water minister Atishi. The rainfall, which started early in the morning, submerged numerous parts of the city, transforming major roads and intersections into waterways and causing significant disruptions to daily life.
Amid the chaos, a video surfaced on the social media showing Delhi water minister Atishi's residence submerged due to waterlogging.
Visuals showed severe flooding outside minister Atishi's residence, mirroring the situation faced by many other areas in the capital.

As Delhi faces chaos caused by the deluge, memories of Atishi's recent hunger strike resurfaced.
The hunger strike, which began on June 21, was a protest against the Haryana government for allegedly withholding Delhi's rightful share of water. Atishi, along with other AAP leaders, started the indefinite fast at Bhogal in South Delhi, demanding immediate action from Haryana to release the necessary water supply.
She accused the Haryana government of reducing the water supply by 100 million gallons per day, a move that affected millions of residents. Despite the sweltering heat and her deteriorating health, she continued her fast.
On the fourth day of her hunger strike, she was admitted to the ICU due to severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, which forced her to end the fast.
