NEW DELHI: Two men on motorcycles shot at a vehicle in Delhi's Dwarka Dabri area, according to the police. The bullets missed the intended target and struck a nearby parked car instead, authorities reported.
Police stated that they were notified about the incident at the Dabri Police Station around 6.42pm on Saturday.
"Old enmity had been there between the alleged accused and the person they targeted," the police said, adding that the three individuals involved have prior cases registered against them.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported in the shooting and that a case has been filed under relevant sections. The search for the assailants is ongoing, police said.
In a separate incident on June 19, a person was killed in a shooting inside a food outlet in Delhi's Rajouri Garden.
Police and forensic teams were immediately dispatched to the scene, and the investigation is still underway.
On May 21, a 21-year-old man named Bilal, a resident of Murtiwali Gali in the Kishan Kunj area of Laxmi Nagar, was shot in the leg.
Police apprehended one of the three accused, Danish, in the Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, and recovered two stolen mobile phones from his possession.
In another incident on May 9, the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested an accused who, along with two other shooters, opened
fire at a car showroom in the Tilak Nagar area. The police stated, "Multiple shots were fired. Some people have sustained injuries due to the broken glass."
The arrested accused, identified as 20-year-old Ketan, was apprehended in Panipat. During questioning, Ketan revealed that gangster Himanshu Bhau, who is currently abroad and has ties to gangsters Neeraj Bawana and Naveen Bali, had ordered him to shoot at the showroom.
