Police booths at Calangute beach must: Stakeholders
Calangute:Tourism stakeholders in Calangute have called for police booths on the beach for security of tourists and rising incidents of children being lost in the multitudes who throng the beach.
Citing incidents of altercations between tourists and watersports operators, the stakeholders said the presence of police on the most-visited beach was important.
A large number of these incidents go unreported, a stakeholder said.

There have also been a large number of children going missing and being traced by Drishti lifesavers and reunited with their parents.
A stakeholder said that police assistance booths at the Calangute promenade, Tito’s Lane and at Baga, are mostly unmanned.
Goa Tourism Board had proposed to set up a tourism police force with tourism department having more control, but the proposal has not materialised yet.
