Avert flooding on campuses & repair bldgs, schools told
Gurgaon: As schools reopened after over a month-long summer vacation, the department of school education has instructed heads of institutions to take steps to avert waterlogging on their campuses.
Schools have been asked to get their buildings repaired immediately if any leakage is found. Further, staff and students have been asked to launch a plantation drive in and around their campuses.

The department has set a target of planting 50,000 saplings across the state. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has also instructed the schools to clear waterlogging, officials said. DHE has instructed all school heads to ensure that students receive a clean environment along with education.
The cleaning work is in full swing in schools, including roofs, toilets, playgrounds, parking areas, and more. Schools have been ordered to ensure that students and staff members plant saplings wherever possible within the school premises and surrounding areas, said an official.
Following the order, a campaign to plant 50,000 fruit-bearing saplings by school children was launched on Monday.
