Assam: Man kills friend over financial dispute

KOKRAJHAR:A man allegedly killed his friend due to a monetary disagreement in Assam's Kokrajhar district, according to police reports on Monday.
The incident occurred on Sunday night in New Amguri village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Balajan police outpost.
The accused, Sokio Basumatary, reportedly engaged in a heated discussion with his friend, Derhasat Basumatary, regarding financial issues.

Police said that in a moment of rage, Sokio allegedly used a sharp object to slit his friend's throat, resulting in instant death.
The villagers informed the police, and Sokio was subsequently arrested, they said.
