Assam pays tribute to Bishnu Rava
GUWAHATI: People across the state on Thursday paid their tributes to the revolutionary artist Bishnu Prasad Rava on his 55th death anniversary, which is observed as the “Bishnu Rava Divas” in the state, reports Dhrubajyoti Malakar.
A poet, songwriter, dancer, actor, painter, politician and a revolutionary above all, Rava revered as the “Kalaguru” (the master of the arts) in the Assamese society, died in 1969.

The doyen of the Assamese culture was remembered across the state by the civil society members, various cultural organisations and district administrations through different programs.
State govt observed the day at Darrang College in Tezpur, where Rava along with Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala and Natasurjya Phani Sarma largely contributed towards the development of the state’s literature and culture.
