Guwahati: Assam cabinet on Wednesday accorded approval to a proposal to exempt examination fees for the service or posts under the state govt for SC and ST students to encourage more participation of youth from these communities in competitive exams.
The cabinet approved operationalising 37 new hemo-dialysis centres in the state with 150 additional hemo-dialysis machines in PPP mode with support from CSR partners, offering affordable and high-quality dialysis services to patients suffering from kidney ailments.
The state govt presently runs 41 centres with 277 hemo-dialysis machines. In 2023-24, 2,21,116 free dialysis sessions were conducted.
To provide high quality, yet affordable, cancer care to patients of Assam and the region, the cabinet has accorded approval to signing of a tripartite MoU between the Assam govt, Tata Education & Development Trusts (TEDT) and Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF).
